Edna McLean was the daughter of Mrs G. McLean of Camp Mountain. She trained at the Brisbane General Hospital, at the Lady Chelmsford Hospital in Bundaberg and at the Brisbane Baby Hospital. In April 1934 she went to Birdsville to work with the Australian Inland Mission operated by the Presbyterian Church. She remained there until 1936.
